Families who live in The Mansions of Buda are served by the notable Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD), which serves approximately 20,000 students through 15 elementary, six middle and three high schools. Residents of The Mansions will attend Ralph Pflueger Elementary School, less than a half mile away; McCormick Middle School, immediately adjacent to our community; and Moe and Gene Johnson High School. Ralph Pflueger Elementary students perform exceptionally well on the STAAR standardized testing assessments. Two of the high schools hold Project Lead the Way designation, and music, art, library, and PE are included in the weekly rotation at each of the elementary schools. The district also features a state-of-the-art performing arts center.
Students are offered many specialized career programs and have access to an elementary magnet school program for science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
One of the points of pride for Hays CISD is the quality of its extracurricular programs. The district recognizes the value of student participation in extracurricular activities and features award-winning band, choir, visual and theatre arts, and athletic programs. The expectation is for students to stretch their minds and expand their abilities as they fulfill their graduation goals. It is the mission of Hays CISD to nurture students to become extraordinary citizens through personal educational experiences while celebrating diversity and achievement.
HIGHER EDUCATION
Residents of The Mansions of Buda have a choice of public and private colleges and universities in the region. University of Texas-Austin is a national top-50 university and in the top 10 for business. Other universities include Texas State University in San Marcos, Southwestern University in Georgetown, and St. Edwards University in Austin.
